Every year, BrightonSEO rolls around and gives us the perfect opportunity to learn, connect, and grow as a team. Since our founder, Carla, first attended the event in a room above a pub, we’ve seen the event, and the SEO industry, transform in many ways. Carla has only missed two of these conferences (for two very important reasons, her babies!) and she’s seen first-hand how the event has become a powerhouse in the search marketing world. Carla was also part of the Agency MD Roundtable, where the industry challenges and direction of search were discussed.

As a marketing agency that prioritises data-driven strategies and constant evolution, BrightonSEO is a fantastic opportunity for our team to refresh our skills and explore the latest trends and developments within the industry. This year’s event didn’t disappoint! It reminded us just how important it is to stay current with changes in search, technology, and consumer behaviour.

What is BrightonSEO?

For those who aren’t familiar, BrightonSEO is one of the leading search marketing conferences globally, with events held in both the UK and the US. It brings together some of the leading experts in SEO and digital marketing for two days of talks, networking, and learning.

There’s always an electric energy at BrightonSEO as the industry’s best gather to share new strategies, tools, and insights that can make a difference to businesses of all shapes and sizes. It’s not just about what we learn in the talks, though, the connections and conversations outside of the sessions are just as valuable to us, and we always come away with fresh perspectives.

Learning From the Best

This year, we were excited to learn about the key changes in SEO for 2024. One of our favourite talks was Aimee Jones “Google did WHAT??” which talked about the pressing issue of Google’s frequent algorithm updates. As SEOs, it’s essential to not only understand these changes but also communicate them effectively to stakeholders. Aimee shared valuable tips on how to explain these updates clearly to clients and decision makers, something that aligns closely with our values.

Another highlight of the conference was Frank’s session on “2024 Must-Know Automations.” As AI continues to reshape the way we work, automation is becoming an essential tool in SEO. Frank showed us how to use a Python script for keyword clustering based on SERP similarity, an approach that promises to increase efficiency in our processes. We will definitely bring these new automation techniques back to the office and look for ways to implement them to improve our workflow and deliver even stronger results for our clients.

Why BrightonSEO?

BrightonSEO is more than just attending talks, it’s a great opportunity to build relationships and spend time as a team. Team building isn’t just about fun, it’s about developing trust and a shared vision for the future. And what better way to do that than through shared learning experiences that remind us why we love what we do?

Events like BrightonSEO expose us to new ideas and tools that keep us competitive, ensuring our strategies align with best practices and Google’s latest algorithm updates. We’re excited to implement these insights and test out new tools as we plan for the last quarter of the year!

The Next Steps…

As we reflect on this year’s BrightonSEO, we’re reminded that digital marketing never stands still, and neither do we. We’re committed to staying at the cutting edge by continuously expanding our knowledge, developing our skills, and implementing the latest tools and strategies.

With BrightonSEO 2024 in the books, we’re excited to take everything we’ve learned back into the workplace and continue pushing ourselves to grow and develop as an agency.
